Data handling

Your prompts
stay yours.

Where every model runs, what we keep from each request, and what we never do with it. The same for every model, our own included.

In plain words.

Four facts that hold for every request, whichever model answers it.

  • Hosted in the USA

Every model, including Nef 4.0 and Sifu 3.5, runs on servers in the United States.

  • API prompts aren’t stored

Request and response bodies aren’t kept, unless you turn on body storage for a project. Then they’re kept for 30 days and deleted.

  • Chats are yours to delete

Web chat conversations are saved to your account so you can return to them. Delete one and it’s erased at once.

  • Never used for training

Your prompts and replies are never used to train or tune models, ours or anyone else’s.

“Not by default” means bodies are stored only for a project where you turn body storage on, for 30 days. How body storage works

Data questions.

What security teams ask before they send the first request.

Not by default. A call’s request and response bodies are only kept for projects where you turn on body storage, to debug from the Logs page. Those bodies are kept for 30 days and then deleted. Turn it off and new calls aren’t stored.

What billing and your usage logs need: the time, model, token counts, cost, latency, status and any error, plus the calling app’s user agent and IP address. Not the prompt or the reply.

Chats are saved to your account, with any files you attach, so you can search and return to them. Delete a chat and it’s erased at once, and any link you shared to it stops working. Chat calls count toward your default project, so if you turn on body storage there, they’re kept for 30 days too.

No. Prompts, replies and files are never used to train or tune models.

Yes. Our own models carry exactly the same guarantees as every other model: hosted in the USA, prompts not stored by default, never used for training.

Your account’s owner and admins, and members for the projects open to them. Our support tools don’t show them, even when we’re helping with your account. Your API key and request headers are never stored.
